Your policy begins on the date you submit your application. However, there is a 30-day waiting period at the start of the policy during which you cannot make a claim. This waiting period helps prevent claims for pre-existing issues and keeps premiums affordable.

In most cases, you can cancel your existing plan and switch to Portman UK. For more information about switching, please contact our sales team on 020 4634 2038, 7473446526 .

You can cancel your policy within 14 days of setting up your plan and receive a full refund of the premium paid for the current policy period, with no charges. After this period, you are free to cancel at any time, although cancellation charges may apply. Please refer to the Cancellation Rights and Charges section in your Policy Terms and Conditions for full details.

If you’re on a standard plan that does not include a £90 + VAT callout fee, you won’t be charged for a callout. If your plan includes a fixed £90 + VAT callout charge, this fee will apply to each callout and is non-refundable; however, it will not be charged for any repeat visits within 30 days to fix the same fault identified during the initial visit. There is no callout charge for your annual boiler service.

In the event of an emergency, such as an uncontrolled water leak, we aim to have an engineer with you within two hours. For other faults, we will do our best to attend on the same day if you call before 9:00am, or within 24 hours of your call. If you suspect a gas leak, please contact the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999.

We will contact you to let you know when your boiler is due for its annual service or required warranty service, ensuring it remains properly maintained and compliant with warranty conditions.
